"As a reaction to this strong progress, the tobacco sector is resisting with recent nicotine products, aggressively aiming at young people. Governments must act faster and more vigorously in applying proven tobacco-control regulations," he added.
The vaping statistics are a projection since numerous countries - 109 in total, and several in Africa and Asian regions - lack statistics.
Per the analysis, as of February this year, at bare minimum 86 million e-cigarette users were mature individuals, mostly in wealthy states.
And at least 15 million adolescents between the ages of 13 and 15 currently vape, according to research from 123 nations.
