Trump Business Attempted to Hire Nearly 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

The former president’s corporate entity accelerated its recruitment of foreign workers on temporary visas this period, while his government was placing obstacles for other businesses attempting to do the same, an analysis published recently stated.

According to data from the US Department of Labor, the Trump Organization sought to bring in at least nearly 200 overseas employees in 2025 for temporary positions at the former president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his Virginia winery.

The quantity of requests for H-2A and H-2B visas covering staff including servers, clerks, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and agricultural laborers was the record submitted by the organization, and up from over 120 in the previous term, when Trump’s first term concluded.

It was also the fifth time in a decade that Trump had attempted to bring in over a hundred foreign employees for temporary positions at his Florida resort, based on available data.

The disclosure coincides with a crackdown on legal immigration by his administration that has included the implementation of a substantial charge on skilled worker visas; increased review of the activities of the millions of people who possess American work permits; and tighter regulations for foreign students and reporters.

Overall, the Trump Organization aimed to hire over 560 overseas workers over the period Trump has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during the upcoming year.

Notably, Trump was criticized by certain in the GOP this week for remarks justifying the need for foreign workers when a company was unable to find people with “specific talents” to fill certain positions.

“You cannot just say a country is coming in, going to invest $10bn to construct a plant, and going to take people off an jobless roster who haven’t worked in years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he told a host after she suggested that foreign workers undercut the pay of US workers.

The administration refused a inquiry for comment, and the business did not provide an answer to an request for information.
