The 22-year-old tennis player Emma Raducanu ends the current season and will keep coach into the 2026 season.

Raducanu made it to the third stage in three out of four major tournaments this year.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her remaining competitions this season because of the illness she has been fighting for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

These plans are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

Raducanu had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match against Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the third set in the match with Zhu because of a lower back issue that has been a concern during parts of the season.

These outcomes signaled a promising season, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 for the first time in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches this year and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

The British number one advanced to the quarters of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with a training session scheduled late this year.

The athlete revealed that her three-day trial with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
