Homages Pour In for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

Well beyond 14 days subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the duo.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt able to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Enough time has elapsed that I can at last put my grief into words," shared Elwes, saying that his introductory moment with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted archival material from the film, adding that he cannot recall "one day without laughter".

"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes continued.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I recall you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Friend and Collaborator

In a different tribute, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Restricted

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to prevent the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the local authorities.

A legal directive placed a security hold on the investigation to restrict the public release of "related notes, evidence and photographs" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a record listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Fallout and Commentary

Following the tragedy, public figures expressed divergent comments.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, offering provocative claims that were met with immediate backlash by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the those speaking out recently. Conversing on his program, Rogan labeled the remarks as "disturbing" and implied they demonstrated a troubling deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan ended by remarking that an adviser could have intervened when the decision to comment on the passing was made.
