Football Expert Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats before the global break, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, fans and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only on the road victory this season came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

A family member advised me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have have plenty of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
