Ex- British Broadcasting Corporation Specialists Undergo MPs' Questioning Following Claims of Partiality in Leaked Document
We begin with questions from Tory Member of Parliament the panel's head, who leads the committee.
She opens by offering background to the leaked memorandum authored by Michael Prescott and printed in the Telegraph.
"I do not desire the British Broadcasting Corporation tilting this way or that way, I just want it neutral, unbiased and just," he states.
Upon being questioned if he believes the BBC is systematically partial, he answers: "No, I do not. It is important to note, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation does is exceptional - both factual and fictional content."
Nevertheless, he states: "There remains significant effort that requires attention at the BBC."
The second former external British Broadcasting Corporation specialist examined by the committee, Caroline Daniel, states she views the BBC very seriously and that it has a "ongoing system and lively discussion" across fluid and multifaceted subjects.
"Was the BBC willing to conduct a genuine dialogue and debate and implement changes?" she asks herself. "From my perspective, yes they were."
