Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the sports world shared sympathy for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
